Rolling Readers Advisory Board

Jane Hopkins, Advisory Board Member
Jane Hopkins worked as an educator for her entire professional career. She has been an elementary school classroom teacher, a bilingual basic skills instructor, and a bilingual reading specialist. During those years she was an active volunteer in the educational community, having served as an officer on school site councils and governance teams. A graduate of University of California, Santa Barbara, she served on the local UCSD alumni chapter as president as well as on the UCSD Board of Directors where she held various offices. Since retiring, she served on the Rolling Readers Board of Directors and has read to more than 1,500 students as a volunteer reader for the past 15 years. In addition, she volunteers for the San Diego Repertory Theatre, the Mingei Museum, and Citizens Diplomacy Council.

Hoa Quach, President
Hoa Quach is the president of Rolling Readers USA and is the chair of the Marketing Committee. She is the associate regional editor for Patch.com, an AOL news company, where she oversees San Diego and Riverside news coverage. She is the past president of the Asian American Journalists Association and a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and the San Diego Press Club. She graduated from San Diego State University where she studied journalism, Asian Studies and Spanish.

Wendy Williams, Past President
Wendy Williams is the past president of Rolling Readers USA and is the chair of the Fundraising Committee. She is a sales and marketing representative for San Diego Office of Interiors.

Nhu Tran, Secretary
Nhu Tran is the secretary of Rolling Readers USA. Since 1997, she has been a contributing member of the San Diego Padres front office and is the manager of the Community Relations and Padres Foundation where she manages the charitable giving efforts for the club, player outreach programs, MLB initiatives, and special events. She graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in sociology and a minor in business management.

Danny Cung, Treasurer
Danny Cung is the treasurer of Rolling Readers USA. He is an investment strategist at Christopher Weil & Company. He graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in economics. He is also a certified financial planner professional.

Laura Ochoa, Director
Laura Ochoa is a director of Rolling Readers USA and is the chair of the Program Committee. She is a sales operations lead for AT&T in Southern California. Laura earned her MBA from Pepperdine University. She is married and enjoys surfing, cooking and poetry.

Orville Brown, Director
Orville Brown is a director of Rolling Readers USA. He is a senior research scientist at Ferro Corporation. He has 14 patents in the microelectronic field. He received his undergraduate degree in mathematics and chemistry from Hunter College of the City of University of NY and his graduate degree in chemistry from Columbia University. He is also involved in Habitat for Humanity Global Village.
Favorite children's book: The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein

Christina La Page, Director
Christina La Page is a director of Rolling Readers USA. She is a district manager for Wells Fargo Bank, where she oversees 10 branches and 170 team members within the San Diego area. She graduated from Cal State San Marcos with a bachelor's in liberal studies.
Favorite children's book: Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss

Diane Mack, Director
Diane Mack is a director of Rolling Readers USA. She is the vice president, legal counsel at Qualcomm Incorporated. Prior to joining Qualcomm, Diane was a partner at the law firm of Gary Cray (now DLA Piper) where she practice labor and employment law. A graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, Diane received her J.D. in 1992, and she graduated from Cornell University in 1989 with a bachelor's in industrial and labor relations. Diane and her husband are the proud parents of 11-year-old twin girls who love to read.

Theresa Tolentino, Program Director
Theresa Tolentino is the program director of Rolling Readers USA where she oversees 48 program sites throughout San Diego County. During her spare time, she volunteers three days a week and is involved in a bowling league. She graduated from San Diego State University where she studied journalism and sociology.
