Our Read-Aloud program motivates children to develop a passion for reading and literature. Every week, hundreds of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers devote time reading to the same classroom(s) of children, and other sites during the school year. These sessions go far beyond just reading a story, creating life-long readers and life-long learners. Our Read-Aloud Program:

• Stimulates a child’s imagination
• Promotes early literacy skills
• Awakens children to new ideas and cultures
• Enables a sense of curiosity and critical thinking skills
• Offers children new vocabulary and other tools for self-expression
• Inspires children to read on their own
• Provides schools with crucial volunteer support

Public schools, libraries and other sites all around are facing debilitating budget cuts, and are more dependent upon volunteers, parents and community leaders to work together to maintain a healthy educational system. We currently have day, evenind, and weekend sessions available.
