With our public schools facing debilitating budget cuts, it falls to volunteers, parents, and community leaders to work together to maintain a healthy educational system. Our volunteers support the work of teachers through thousands of hours of service each year.
If you agree that illiteracy is not an acceptable option for any of our children, please consider giving a little of your time. Currently, there are over 200 Rolling Readers Read-Aloud volunteers active in our communities, but sites are requesting many more volunteers than we can provide. Reading aloud to a group of children takes only about half an hour each week. In that time, you will affect our children's lives more than you might have imagined.
Or, organize a Volunteer Team with your office, club or professional organization. You will receive name recognition where it matters most . . . in the heart of the community.
To register for an upcoming volunteer orientation, please email volunteer@rollingreaders.org or call our office at (619) 516-4095. All volunteers must first complete an application, which can be DOWNLOADED HERE.
